Some designs can be achieved best in buttercream. Other designs can be achieved best in fondant. A nice
look for wedding cakes is to start with a buttercreme covered cake an add embellishments--fondant motifs, gumpaste flowers,
sugared fruits, sparkling sugar or chocolates. This way you can get the soft creamy taste of buttercreme, but achieve
design details that can only be crafted in other media. The best of both worlds!
